It was in 1980 that Antoine Simonin, a passionate watchmaking expert and teacher, discovered that François Lecoultre's book "Les montres compliquées" was out of print and only available at prices that were unaffordable for those who needed it most. The reprint of this book is therefore linked to the creation of Editions-Simonin, which will exclusively develop in the sphere of watch-making far and wide.
We are proud to have a unique position in Switzerland, in Europe and even in the world, since we gather under one roof, the ancient and the new in the field of watchmaking literature. In addition to this, we offer watchmaking services that have been created in response to the needs expressed by our customers.
In 2014, we moved to Dombresson. In the old days of watchmaking, there were 23 pivoteur workshops in this village in the heart of the Canton of Neuchâtel. That is why we feel at home here.
Moreover, we found an ideal setting for our activities in a house dating back to 1628, which gradually served as a stagecoach station, hotel, town hall, prison and drugstore. Today, it is a world centre for watchmaking literature and other services.
They come from all over the world. They are all enthusiasts who share with us their interest, curiosity and a passion for the world of watchmaking.
In addition to watchmaking literature, we offer services that make it possible to find at the same address what is often scattered or seems impossible to find.
Whether you are a business manager, a watchmaker, a collector, a developer, a student or a lover of timekeeping, the right address is Editions-Simonin where you will find a long out-of-print book, historical informations, a technical document, an antique tool or an exceptional object.
Editions-Simonin is a unique world and more importantly a spirit.
We are committed to share our knowledge and our passion by offering individualised quality services.
